The Dethleffs A-class motorhome accommodates 4 people, whilst the Itineo A-class, Benimar overcab and Challenger overcab accommodate 5 people.
A valid driving licence must be presented for all persons who will drive the vehicle, along with ID for all adults travelling in the motorhome.
The driver must be at least 25 years old and have held a category B driving licence or equivalent for at least 2 years.
The hire includes an allowance of 300 km/day + €0.40/km for additional mileage.
Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicles. Pet owners must enquire in advance whether pets are permitted.
Travel is permitted within Spain and EU countries only, with authorisation from Escapa Cantabria.
The minimum hire period is 5 days in low season, 6 days in mid season and 7 days in high season.
The vehicle must be returned in good hygienic condition, with the interior clean and the toilet cassette and waste water tanks properly emptied. Otherwise, €100 will be deducted from the deposit.
Collections and returns shall take place at the hire location, at the agreed times and in the same condition.
To confirm the booking, 40% of the hire cost must be paid by bank transfer or by card through our website.
Upon collection of the motorhome, a security deposit of €900.00 is held on a credit card. It will be returned the day after the vehicle is returned, provided it is in perfect condition.
The following charges apply in the event of a cancellation:
The contract holder must be present to sign the document, providing:
2.1 The vehicle booking includes payment of 40% of the total hire cost as a deposit.
2.2 In the event of cancellation, the following penalties apply to the deposit:
2.3 If the hirer unilaterally begins late or ends the hire early, they shall have no right to any refund.
3.1 The remaining balance must be paid before departure by card or in cash.
3.2 A security deposit of €900 is held on a VISA or MASTERCARD credit card (American Express is not accepted). The hirer authorises the deposit charge and, in the event of traffic offences, the charge to the card after prior notice.
3.3 The deposit will be returned after the vehicle has been inspected. In the event of damage, a detailed note will determine the amount payable. Loss of keys or documentation incurs a penalty of €250 + VAT. The hire company has 30 days to return the deposit if immediate assessment is not possible.
4.1 The hire company delivers the vehicle in perfect condition. It shall not be liable for mechanical failures or breakdowns due to normal wear and tear.
4.2 If, due to force majeure, the vehicle cannot be delivered, the booking deposit will be refunded.
4.3 The hire company assumes no responsibility for the hirer's car parked on its premises.
5.1 The handover takes place after a thorough inspection of the vehicle by both parties.
5.2 The hirer is obliged to follow the instructions of the technical staff. A handover report signed by both parties will be prepared.
5.3 Upon return, the hirer must report any incidents. Damage not noted on the handover report will be the hirer's responsibility.
5.4 The vehicle must be returned clean with the toilet cassette and tanks emptied. Otherwise: €100.
5.5 To extend the hire, written notice must be given at least 3 days in advance. Subject to availability.
5.6 The vehicle is handed over with a full tank and must be returned likewise. Missing diesel is charged at €2.40/litre.
5.7 Collection and return in Santander, at the hire company's garage.
5.8 Unauthorised late returns: triple daily rate. Each hour of delay: €30.
5.9 Collections: 8:00 to 12:00. Returns: 14:00 to 18:00, unless otherwise agreed.
The hirer undertakes to maintain the vehicle in good condition and to comply with traffic regulations. The following are prohibited:
Authorised countries: Spain and EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Great Britain, with express authorisation.

The vehicle may only be driven by the main driver and the additional driver named on the contract. Both must be over 25 years old with a category B licence held for at least 2 years. Non-compliance results in forfeiture of the deposit.
The hirer is responsible for any fines or penalties, as well as costs arising from the vehicle being impounded. The insurance has a €900 excess.
If the breakdown is caused by negligent use, the hirer bears the cost of repair. If it is due to a manufacturing defect or normal wear, the hire company bears the cost. In case of disagreement, an expert shall be appointed by mutual agreement.
In the event of an accident, theft, fire or animal damage:
Limit: 300 km/day allowance. Excess: €0.40/km.
Minimums: 5 days (low), 6 days (mid), 7 days (high).
All included services and accessories are specified in the hire contract.
For all disputes, both parties submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Santander, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction.
ARAG guarantees reimbursement of trip cancellation costs incurred by the insured, provided the trip is cancelled before departure due to unforeseen circumstances such as:
